Falls ihr es noch nicht wisst: Wir sind im Krieg. So hat es zwar noch niemand hochoffiziell genannt, aber das ist laut Herrn Schäuble nur Pipifax und eine Frage der Semantik.
Krieg in Deutschland ist im Jahre 2007 also eine Frage der Bedeutungslehre. Definiert man Bedeutung als den Inhalt, der sich aus der Relation zwischen Zeichen und Welt ergibt, heißt dies im Klartext: Ob du das Krieg nennst oder nicht, ist nur eine Frage der Definition.

It’s the week of “touchy” news. After the very haptic experience with the washable mouse , digitimes reports that Apple might finally bring us the long expected touchscreen iPod as soon as next month!
Apple has placed an order for touchscreen panels with the Taiwan-based company “Wintek”. The display maker will begin shipping capacitive touch screen panels in the second half of 2007, according to their digitimes sources.
Although Wintek denies these reports in a quick press release , they just refer to the confidentiality of their business relations.

The touch screen feature is one of the long held rumors besides the rumor about the now available iPhone which features a multi touchscreen.
When released it is anticipated that the iPod will feature the same mutitouch coverflow abilities as the iPhone.
Earlier this month Apple brushed up their Macbook pro line of laptops with new low power LCD panels and faster processors.

Can you picture yourself gently rubbing over the surface of your mouse, holding it under the faucet, dry it and use it again? Yeah, ok if you look at your mouse you probably can. So can Belkin. They now announced a fully washable and thereby desinfected mouse. Perfect for bacteria phobics and your clean girlfriend.

Who thought that the days of the command line have been counted, might be wrong.

In the days of iPhones pooping popping up on every website and impressing the crowd with an unique user interface, Alex Faaborg, who recently joined Mozilla as User Experience Designer, wrote some interesting things about it on the mozilla blog.
I use the Mac application Quicksilver myself a lot – the combination of command line (or as geeks refer to as “CLI” – go and look it up yourself) and GUI is the most powerfull I’ve experienced so far for the shorter commands. For longer commands I tend to go back to the terminal (started with quicksilver of course).

Seit der immer mehr zu früh kommende Sommer (lateinisch: Ejaculatio aestas praecox) mehr als eingebrochen ist, haben sich bei meinen Nachbarn im Feuchtraumbiotop ca. 3000 Brüllunken eingenistet. Die der Sorte niemals enden wollender Quaaaakorgien…

Mordgedanken…

...gestern im internet – kopieren meines gpg-keys (eine Erklärung wird hoffentlich nicht nötig sein)

Ausser der unkenntlich Machung der Adressen ist hier nichts gephotoshopped…

Immer wieder interessant wie aufgeschmissen man doch ist, wenn man sein Gegenüber nicht versteht: Chuchichäschtli! (Küchenschrank!)

Als Norddeutscher klingt dies wie CHCHCHCH und das ist auch gleich das Ursprungsland von dieser Worthülse. Die Schweizer haben schon so einige schöne Wörter, die wenn auch oft entlehnt aus anderen Sprachen, eher fremd wirken: Lavabo (Waschbecken), Herdöpfel (Kartoffeln), Mies (Meins), gango poschten (Einkaufen).
Heute auf einer Geburtstagsfeier sang eine Burghexe in Berner Mundart – dachte ich doch ich hätte schon so einiges an dieser Sprachbarriere gemeistert und würde vieles verstehen, so war der eigentümliche Gesang der Besenbesitzerin für mich eher wie die Rezitation eines alten Hexenspruchs. Verstanden hab ich nix! Aber das war vielleicht auch gut so, denn an den Reaktionen meiner Mitgepeinigten abzulesen, war es eher zum Augenverdrehen als zum zuhören.
Die Location war jedoch sehr interessant, ein alter unbenutzter Wasserspeicher unter der Erde (so konnte zum Glück niemand von draussen die ungewöhnliche schwarze Dame hören, was genozidales Ohrenbluten in verhindert hat).
