Bewaffnet mit Wahlaufrufsschein und Reisepass betrete ich die Halle, gewillt meiner bürgerlichen Pflicht zu Wählen nachzukommen.
Der Schwabe, wie er nun mal so ist, spart gerne und kombiniert daher am heutigen Tage gleich drei Wahlen: Europa, und 2x Kommunal.

Ja, ich will.

Ich steh also vor dem ersten Tisch um mir meine Stimmzettel abzuholen und bin überrascht, dass mir die Scheine ohne Identitätskontrolle ausgehändigt werden. Mein Reisepass-zücken wird mit einem “Brauchen wir hier nicht.” des Herrn auf der anderen Seite des Tisches ausgebremst.
Nun gut, bis jetzt ist noch kein Schaden getan, die Zettel sind noch nicht in der Urne.

Ich mache meine Kreuze, falte und tüte.

Auf zum zweiten Tisch.

Ich übergebe meinen Wahlaufrufszettel an eine Dame mittleren Alters und strecke Ihr meinen Pass entgegen.
Erwiedert wird dies mit einem “Brauchen wir nicht, wir glauben Ihnen auch so.”, die anderen Wahlhelfer nicken nur.
Mein Kommentar “Glaube gehört in die Kirche.” wird nicht erwiedert.

Ich, oder genauer, die Person deren Wahlaufrufszettel ich eben abgegeben habe, wird aus der Wählerliste gestrichen, ich werfe meine(?) Stimmzettel in die Urnen und verlasse die Halle.

Du bist Deutschland.

Ich habe heute an drei Wahlen teilgenommen, aber sicher bin ich mir nicht, die Wahlhelfer offensichtlich genausowenig. Zu kümmern scheint es aber keinen, ausser mich.

Von Bekannten und Freunden aus Köln und München wurde mir gleichartiges berichtet.
Hier wurde ebenfalls kein Identitätsnachweis verlangt, selbst von einem französischen Staatsbürger nicht, bei dem auf ebenfalls explizite Anfrage der Reisepass mit ähnlichem Kommentar dankend abgelehnt wurde.

The nrrd.de core team (housetier and hadez) has met in Berlin for the 25th annual chaos communication congress.

We’ve been planning on re-orienting and re-launching nrrd.de and affiliated sites for well over a year now and finally managed to allocate some time to work on this together.

Here’s a small glimpse into the future of nrrd.de:

• ‘das buch’ will be separated a bit better from the blog content
• nrrd.de will be re-purposed for blogging
• we’ll launch the nrrd affiliates network
• new design

We’re still looking for contributors!
If you think you can contribute content to our -isms (tech-ism, urban-ism, style-ism, social-ism) you’re more than welcome to help.
If you have no clue what what the -isms are, just wait for one of the next blog posts to explain it in more detail.

When writing programs on Windows that involve I/O operations using the serial port, one quickly ends up loving Sysinternals Portmon.

I just found myself in a situation where I needed the exact same functionality, but on Linux.
What I found was jpnevulator.
It’s plain, simple, and if you’re on Debian or Ubuntu, just apt-get install jpnevulator and you’re good to go.

If you want to know what goes in and out over your serial port (in my case ttyUSB0), just use the tool like this:

You can use it to write data to a serial port, too.

Jugendschutz.net, die Kontrollstelle der Bundesländer für Jugendschutz im Internet, habe 2007 über 2600 Verstöße gegen den Jugendschutz erfasst.

JA WIE HOCH IST DENN BITTE DER WOECHENTLICHE KOKSBEDARF UNSERER POLITIKER?!
Anders kann ich mir die total rueckstaendige Ansichtsweise und Aeusserungen die meiner Ansicht nach nur Schnappsideen sein koennen garnicht erklaeren.
Es entzieht sich meines Verstaendnisses wie sich jemand “im Namen des Jugendschutzes” an allen muendigen Deutschen vergehen kann und sich damit noch profiliert?

Wenn man keine Moeglichkeit hat mit sinnvollen Beitraegen auf sich aufmerksam zu machen, Frau Stewens, dann sollte man ABTRETEN und das Amt an jemanden abgeben der FAEHIG ist klar zu denken!

From what I hear, the demand for people experienced in cutting submarine cables is quite high at the moment.
I smell big business.
Joint ventures with submarine cable repair companies would be win-win.
I’m sure the US can supply plenty of contractors to mess up the job.

I just hope my inner crystal ball is wrong in what I foresee for Iran’s near future.
It already happened once, they came, liberated, brought democracy, and found it to be so cozy there, that they’re still in the neighborhood.

It’s becoming obvious that this is not a coincidence.

Reports of the FOURTH submarine cable that got cut just came in.
Who’s trying to make ANYONE believe this is just a mere coincidence or unlucky accidents?

DOHA (AFP) — An undersea telecoms cable linking Qatar to the United Arab Emirates was damaged, disrupting services, telecommunications provider Qtel said on Sunday, the latest such incident in less than a week.
The cause of the damage is not yet known.

Of cooouuurrrssseee, yes! just! another! coincidence!

Tell that to whoever you like.
But this is beyond conspiracy, this is just too statistically improbable to not be deliberate.

There have also been reports that there were NO ships present at the time the cables were cut.
And even better, no one’s gonna fix it any time soon, because of the bad weather.

I was just posting how Iran got conveniently (partly?) cut off the Net four hours ago.

But now there’s even more!

Here’s the stuff to fuel the conspiracy:
US plan to launch Cyber Storm 2 early March.

Just let me quote some of the nicer key points of Cyber Storm 2:

• Imagined villains include hackers, bloggers and even reporters.
• Multi target attacks:
  1. Hacker break-ins at an airline
  2. stolen commercial software blueprints
  3. problems with satellite navigation systems
  4. trouble with police radios in Montana
  5. school closures in Washington
  6. Miami and New York
  7. computer failures at border checkpoints

What has this to do with Iran?

I sincerely hope nothing at all.
But be aware of the fact that on 9/11 there were large terrorist attack drills² happening during the attacks that “confused” the officials.
Coincidence! You say.
Well, there also were mock attacks staged during the 7/7 London bombings³.

9/11, 7/7, 3/x ?

Now they’ve scheduled a large cyber war drill for early March this year, and conveniently, just in time, Iran is offline.
No chance of grass-roots reporting, blogging, direct and unfiltered news from Iran.

If there were something to happen that seems like terrorist attacks and the government later uses it to start something ‘funny’...
