Today I did what I was planning on for a couple of years now.
I finally went through with my secession from the roman-catholic church.
All I had to do was cough up 15 EUR at the registry office to get the official paperwork done.
Being agnostic and having a strong dislike of the church as an institution it was time to leave before they can start leeching on my income.
Yes, here in Germany the church (for roman-catholics and protestants) takes 8 to 9% of your income.
Conveniently deducted right off your paycheck.
Hell no!
Coincidently I found the approval mail from CCC in my inbox on the same day!
Not that it’s much of a substitution, but the best improvement possible at the time :D
In contrary to GI and BITKOM, CCC does something and gets noted for it.
Looks like they are the only IT “lobby” (yuck, I hate that word) that’s really making a difference.
Definitely 100000x better to support them rather than spending money on any church out there.
