i spent most of this week in san jose, attending photonics west.
since my company was an exhibiting their cameras i had free admission.
the downside of this was: helping to set up and take down the booth.
well, fair enough, i was able to spend two days roaming the halls, drooling at high power lasers, the latest in LEDs, CCDs, CMOS sensors, MEMS, optics, whatever.
it was overwhelming.
but it looks like i might have stood out of the crowd just a little bit.
when i was walking around (not wearing a suit) i walked past one booth that seemed to only show weird people dressed in nice suits rather than products.
and these weird people seemed to be bored.
so while i was walking past their booth one of them went like:
“hey look at him! guess he’s on the wrong show, it’s not CES in las vegas here.”
duh. what a @#$%$.
i decided not to turn around and let them take a good look at my exhibitor badge.
people with too much ego and not enough work are just annoying.
the shuttle bus connecting long term parking, rental car, and terminals at san jose airport must have been the most annoying thing i’ve seen^W heard ever since i got here.
every time the door closes:
“pleeeaaseee, use hand rail while on the bus!”
and then, as soon as you drive up to the next stop:
“next stop: terminal X. airline1, airline2, arline3, airline4, airline6, airline7; departure. pleeeassee, wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before leaving thru the back door, and pleeeassee, watch your step!”
every
frickin’
stop
i was only on that shuttle for a few minutes, but man, those bus drivers…
... worst, job, ever.
